BAYKEEPER LOG 15: July 2006 Save Passmaquoddy Bay / Canada formalizes opposition to LNG. In June, the ad hoc Save Passamaquoddy Bay / The Baykeeper boat has arrived in St. Andrews! On July 1st, the Baykeeper boat was successfully transported from the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club, in Saint John, to St. Andrews, where she will remain working in Passamaquoddy Bay for the rest of the summer. ![]() Where is the signage for Illegal dumping at Little Dipper Harbour. During shoreline patrol at Little Dipper Harbour, Baykeeper discovered construction debris, which had been dumped on a sensitive barrier beach. The debris was documented and reported to provincial environment officials, resulting in a clean-up order to the property owner. ![]() Government sells out on Endangered Species! The last remaining undeveloped shoreline along the Lower Kennebecasis River at Boar's Head, in Milledgeville, has been sold by the government to a developer for a residential housing development. This decision was made following reassurances that sensitive areas at Boar's Head would be preserved. Baykeeper David Thompson is disappointed that the sale went through without provisions to protect endangered species which exist on the property. Baykeeper will continue to explore avenues to protect the most sensitive areas along shorelines and the habitats of endangered species which exist at Boar's Head. Our summer students are here! A big welcome goes to Alison Gayton and Ken Seman, Baykeeper's 2006 summer students. Alison is working out of Saint John, assisting Baykeeper with research, while Ken is working out of St. Andrews as both crew aboard the Fundy Baykeeper boat and assisting with various projects.

The Conservation Council has been working for over eight years to have the Musquash Estuary designated as an MPA.
