The Fundy Baykeeper was
requested by a
local inhabitant to investigate the illegal dumping and burning of
garbage on Hog Island, known in the area as plastic Island. The
Baykeeper arrived to find smoldering plastic and a large sheet of
plastic hardened over the intertidal zone. The Department of
Environment and Local Government was alerted to the issue and burning
on the island has since stopped.
